Terms of Service
Tani ("Tani", "we", "us") operates a marketplace that lets people in the UAE buy and sell pre-loved fashion and related items. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these Terms.
You must be at least 18 years old to sell on Tani. You are responsible for the accuracy of your listings, for the items you sell, and for complying with applicable UAE law.
Tani is a venue that connects buyers and sellers. The contract of sale for an item is between the buyer and the seller. Tani facilitates payment, protection and delivery but is not the seller of member-listed items.
We may suspend or remove accounts and listings that breach these Terms, our policies, or the law.
Buyer Protection
Every eligible purchase made through Tani checkout is covered by Buyer Protection. Your payment is held securely and is only released to the seller after delivery is confirmed.
If an item never arrives, or arrives significantly not as described, you can open a claim within the inspection window shown on your order. For "not as described" claims we may ask for photos or an unboxing video as evidence.
Buyer Protection only applies to payments made through Tani. Deals arranged off-platform (cash, bank transfer, or paying a seller directly) are not protected.
Fees & payouts
Listing items on Tani is free. When an item sells, Tani charges the seller a 10% commission on the item price. The exact fee is always shown before you confirm.
Seller payouts are released after the buyer confirms receipt or the inspection window closes without a claim. Payouts require a verified seller account.
Prices are shown in UAE Dirham (AED).
Seller verification (Emirates ID)
To sell and receive payouts, sellers must verify their identity with a valid Emirates ID. Verification is handled through a licensed identity provider.
Tani stores only the verification result (verified yes/no) and a provider reference. We do not store your Emirates ID number or document images.
Privacy (UAE PDPL)
We process personal data in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). We collect only what we need to run the marketplace: your account details, listings, messages, orders and the data required for payments, delivery and verification.
We share data with service providers strictly to deliver the service — for example payment processing, identity verification and courier delivery. We do not sell your personal data.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. Some data may be retained where the law requires it (for example transaction records).
Prohibited items & conduct
Counterfeit goods, replicas, and items that infringe a brand's rights are not allowed. Listings must show the real item you are selling.
Illegal, dangerous, recalled, or restricted goods are prohibited. So are listings that are misleading, offensive, or that attempt to move the transaction off-platform to avoid protection.
Harassment, fraud, and abuse of the dispute process may lead to account suspension and, where appropriate, referral to the authorities.
Disputes & returns
If a buyer and seller cannot resolve an issue, Tani reviews the evidence from both sides (listing details, messages, and any photos or unboxing video) and makes a decision.
Where a return is required, the item must be sent back through a tracked method. The outcome may be a full refund, a partial refund, or release of payment to the seller.
